Male Escort Photography – Part I: Introduction

When it comes to creating a profile to promote your male companionship services, your photographs are one of the most important factors. There’s an old saying about food that “the first bite is with the eye”, and the same applies to escorting. You can be the absolute perfect gentleman with the perfect profile text, but if you’ve not put the same care and effort into how you present yourself, nobody will click to find out.

We’ll get to presentation – the kinds of pictures you need – in the next piece, but first we need to look at who you’re pitching to, as well as highlight one of the key mistakes that most guys make when creating their profile, especially if they’re pitching to women.

A note on this guide

I talk a lot about what you should and shouldn’t do over the next few pieces, but I don’t include many examples. You might reasonably ask why. It’s because we see hundreds of really, really bad pictures every year, and it wouldn’t be right or fair to publish them. Besides, we don’t have permission.

You’ve seen bad pictures. You’ve seen good pictures. Take a minute to browse the listings, look at the pictures the other guys have. Don’t look at the guy’s appearance so much, but look at the pictures themselves. Are they well-lit? Are they posing well? Is the background appropriate? What is the light doing? Are they dressed in a way that suits them? Are they in a place where you’d expect to see a male escort?

You are the judge of their pictures in the same way that a client will be the judge of yours. If you see a guy who’s picture you think isn’t up to scratch, work out why, and then avoid that mistake.

If you’re not sure, if you become a male escort with The Male Escort Agency, we’re on hand to help you as much as we can. We can’t take the pictures for you, but we can advise you on what works and what doesn’t, and where you can improve.

Consider Your Target Audience

I’m going to start with an important note on what not to include, or rather, what not to include too much of: “muscle” shots, especially if you’re pitching at a female audience.

This is one thing that a lot of guys get wrong. A lot. Striking a pose, showing off your six pack everywhere, all or most of your gallery pictures in the gym, that kind of thing? Big mistake.

Think about it. Are you meeting your client in the gym? Then why do you show how you look there? Location is important, too.

Don’t misunderstand, a lot of women like a guy with a good body, but if that’s all you’re offering, it becomes kinda “meh”. For many, many women, muscles are incidental. For some, they may give you an edge over men without, but if they’re all you have to offer? Most women will scroll on.

You know who loves muscular men showing off?

Other men. If all your shots are showing off your finely honed abs, epic pecs, and bulging biceps, you’re pitching a lot more to men there, not women.

Filling out a t-shirt well? Looking good in a suit? THAT is what muscles are for, as far as most women are concerned. Sure, a hint of a tease, just… don’t make it everything.

Know what women want – and don’t want

It’s not a hard-and-fast rule, but women tend to be less drawn to specific physical aspects of men as much as they are to their overall presence, demeanour, and style. Sure, some go for a six-pack, but they’re just as likely to be drawn to nice shoulders, kind eyes, or a warm smile. It’s an indicator of the energy you bring to the table.

As a professional male escort, you aren’t always just selling a physical layout – you are selling high-end companionship, status, emotional safety, and an unforgettable experience. To capture that, your imagery needs to shift focus.

If women are your target audience, stop shooting for the lads. Instead, start curating an image that speaks directly to what a woman actually wants when she’s looking for a companion.
